“Hey CHRIS CARTER!” (host of “Breakfast with the Beatles” and “The British Invasion Show” on SiriusXM)

“Tell us what you think about LAUREL CANYON LOVE!”

The Captain (along with the rest of Acoustic Generation) has been on Chris’ show several times as there are some Laurel Canyon/Sunset Strip Beatles’ connections.  The Whisky a Go-Go (the 1st music venue inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) was the site of George Harrison’s infamous throwing of his whiskey and Coke on a photographer (not very Zen George).  It was a big deal back in 1964 – the night after the Beatles first played the Hollywood Bowl. They were sitting with starlet Jayne Mansfield in a booth (yes, she tipped off the media about this) and mayhem ensued.  Remember Brian Epstein didn’t want the lads to take photos with celebrities – but Jayne had other plans!  The Whisky was so jam packed that the boys had to be carried over the heads of everyone by Jayne’s bodyguards to get out.  All except Paul as he was on a date with Peggy Lipton from the Mod Squad tv show!  He had met her the night before at the Hollywood Bowl and wanted to hold her hand (insert Ringo drum fill here).  So it was the Fab 3 at the hot new West Hollywood club, the Whisky a Go-Go.  A somewhat inebriated George was immortalized on the front page photo of the Herald Examiner newspaper (they scooped their rival LA Times and captured George in a memorable photo with his drink in mid-flight!)

Paul Leslie has interviewed Willie Nelson, Michael Nesmith, Pete Seeger, Lyle Lovett, David Lee Roth, Fats Domino, and now Captain Flashback! Hear the full buzz about Laurel Canyon Love!

“I was visiting Hollywood with my son who is a big Classic Rock fan.  We were BLOWN AWAY by this show and the music & stories were beyond cool – they were FAT RAT!!!  Can’t recommend Laurel Canyon Love! enough.  Go be a part of the experience!”
